MM2H Silver Tier Fixed Deposit Revised to USD 150,000

MM2H银级定期存款调整为 150,000 美元

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has updated the MM2H Silver category fixed deposit requirement. Our licensed team is ready to assist with applications under the new framework.

What Changed

Under the updated framework for new applications, the fixed deposit requirement for the MM2H Silver category has been revised to USD 150,000, aligning the tier with the revised financial threshold. The Gold and Platinum categories remain unchanged.

Who It Affects

New applicants selecting the Silver category, and applicants whose cases have not yet been finalised, will be assessed under the revised requirement. Applications already approved under the previous framework are not affected.

SMM2H Sarawak Introduces 5+5 Year Renewal Structure

The Sarawak state government has refined the SMM2H visa renewal structure to 5+5 years, offering greater flexibility for long-term residents.

砂拉越州政府已优化SMM2H签证续签结构为5+5年，为长期居留者提供更大灵活性。

New Renewal Framework

The Sarawak government has adopted a 5+5 year structure for SMM2H passes — an initial 5-year validity with the option to renew for a further 5 years. This replaces the previous single-period arrangement and gives long-term residents clearer renewal planning.

Key Terms Unchanged

The RM 500,000 fixed deposit requirement, the minimum 30-days-per-year stay and access to Borneo's state-administered programme remain in place. Renewal applications should be submitted through a licensed representative before expiry.
